Meet the Real Vineyard VIPs (Our Sheep Labour)
Among the Vines
If you’ve driven past Featherstone lately, you might have noticed our land-management crew looking a little... fluffier than usual. Meet our resident flock of sheep! While they might look like they’re just hanging out enjoying the Niagara sun, they are actually working hard as our eco-friendly, four-legged viticulturists.

"Their official job description? Leaf-stripping! And the best part... they never ask for overtime pay." - Bougie Boss
Why We Love Our Four-Legged Farmers So Much
Rather than using heavy tractors or harsh machinery to clear excess leaves around the growing fruit, our flock takes care of business naturally.
Here’s why this sustainable trick works so well:
Natural Sunlight: By eating the lower leaves, they open up the canopy so our grapes get maximum sunshine.
Optimal Airflow: Better airflow around the fruit keeps humidity down and grapes healthy.
Soil Health: They fertilize the soil naturally as they stroll!
Zero Carbon Footprint: Fewer tractor passes mean happier, healthier land on the Bench.

Fun Fact: The sheep are smart grazers! They prefer the leafy green foliage over the tart, unripened grapes, making them the ultimate precision leaf-trimmers.
