Estate Tour and Tasting
In this comprehensive tour of our Estate Winery you will learn the Featherstone approach to maintaining immaculate vineyards -- without the use of chemical pesticides and intervention -- and to making great wines from only the grapes we grow here on our 23 acre vineyard. Tour and tasting lasts approx. 45 min with three wines tasted. $8.00 per person, groups of 6-26
Wine Challenge
A fun, interactive way to learn about wine. Participants are divided into groups, we cover up the wine bottles and then pour three wines for you. Next we ask three questions about each wine -- questions designed to teach about wine and to have fun. This is a great team building and corporate exercise. The tasting lasts about 1 hour and works best with groups of 12-30. $10.00 per person, three wines tasted. Tastings are led by the winemaker.
The Ultimate Winery Experience
A private tour of our winery and vineyard personally led by winemaker and owner David Johnson. You will sample wines right out of the tank and barrel and then enjoy a relaxed tasting of some of our award winning wines, including Icewine. Tour and tasting will last about 1 hour. Groups of 4-15 only, $20.00 per person.
Sheep in the vineyard they're baaa-ck
David Johnson has added ‘shepherd’ to his job description. Join him for a vineyard tour and an introduction to the Featherstone Estate sheep. The sheep are brought into the vineyard for a brief period to do leaf removal on the vines and provide weed control. Sip on our famous Featherstone Estate 2010 Black Sheep Riesling and enjoy a vineyard tour that is unique in Canada.
Sunday, 24 July, and again the four Sundays in August: the 7th, 14th, and 21st.
Time: 1:30pm. Tour lasts about 45 minutes. Three wines will be tasted.
Please wear appropriate footwear to meet the sheep (high heels will be regretted). $10.00 per person, to a maximum 20 people per session. We recommend calling ahead with a credit card number to reserve: 905-562-1949
The fine print...
Our tours are meant to be fun, casual, wine experiences that are also a wee bit educational. Please book ahead at least a week. Except for the Estate Tour, we usually seat everyone outside on our over-sized veranda. Please dress appropriately, as it can be cool or windy . and we do not have access to indoor rooms if the weather is poor. HST will be added to all tour prices.
